The People's Committee of Quang Nam province announced that by 2026, the number of civil servants and public employees in the province will be reduced by 3,147 people. This includes a reduction of 158 civil servants and 2,989 public employees.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, Le Van Dung, has just signed and issued a plan to streamline the number of civil servants and employees receiving salaries from the state budget by 2026 in administrative agencies and public service units of the provincial government (provincial and district levels).

Accordingly, the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee has outlined a roadmap to streamline the government sector's staffing by 2026, aiming to reduce at least 10% of the public service staff and 5% of the civil servant staff compared to the allocated staffing levels in 2021.
The Provincial People's Committee announced that the number of civil servants allocated by the central government will be reduced to 2,998 by 2026, compared to 3,156 in 2021 – a reduction of 158 positions (equivalent to a 5% decrease).
To achieve the goal, the provincial People's Committee has implemented the following downsizing roadmap: In the 2023-2024 period, 30 positions were reduced as planned; in 2025, 3,096 positions were allocated, a reduction of 30 positions compared to 2024; in 2026, 2,998 positions were allocated, a reduction of 98 positions compared to 2025.
Regarding the number of civil servants, the Provincial People's Committee aims to reduce it to 26,903 by 2026, a decrease of 2,989 positions (equivalent to 10%) compared to 2022 (29,892 positions).
The roadmap for reducing the number of civil servants: In the period 2023-2024, 2,194 positions were reduced; in 2025, 27,661 positions were allocated, a reduction of 37 positions compared to 2024; in 2026, 26,903 positions were allocated, a reduction of 758 positions compared to 2025.
According to Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung, the implementation of personnel reduction aims to clearly define the responsibilities of collectives and individuals, especially the heads of departments. It also emphasizes the continued reform and restructuring of the political system to ensure efficiency and effectiveness; reviewing, assigning, and rearranging the workforce of officials, civil servants, and public employees to meet job requirements, linked to the evaluation and ranking of civil servants and public employees…
The head of the Provincial People's Committee instructed the heads of agencies, units, and localities to review and assess the functions, tasks, workload, work efficiency, and practical situation of implementing assigned tasks according to job positions, in order to consider and resolutely streamline the workforce of officials, civil servants, and public employees who do not meet job requirements or lack responsibility in performing their duties.
"Based on the tasks that have been decentralized, delegated, and authorized, heads of agencies, units, and localities should review and specifically assess the workload according to their assigned functions and tasks in order to reduce staffing levels at the positions that have been decentralized and authorized...", the Chairman of Quang Nam emphasized.
