Quang Ngai allocates 160 billion VND to build new rural areas

160 billion VND from the National Target Program (NTP) is allocated to 13 communes to strive to meet new rural standards in the 2024-2025 period.

On May 6, the 13th Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026, held the 23rd session (special session).

Based on the review of the Provincial People's Committee's submission, the verification report of the Economic - Budget Committee, the explanation of the Department of Planning and Investment, and the discussion opinions of the Provincial People's Council delegates at the session, the Provincial People's Council discussed and decided to allocate the provincial budget capital in 2024 (phase 3) to implement the National Target Program on New Rural Construction of 160 billion VND for 13 communes striving to meet new rural standards in the period of 2024-2025.

It is known that the total public investment plan for 2024 to implement the National Target Program on New Rural Development and a number of other programs and projects is over 410 billion VND. The assigned capital plan (phase 1 and phase 2) is nearly 218 billion VND.

Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council also discussed and voted to pass resolutions such as: supplementing the revenue and expenditure estimates for 2024 from foreign non-refundable aid with an amount of more than 19 billion VND; approving the policy of changing the purpose of using rice-growing land to other purposes in Quang Ngai province.

At the meeting, the People's Council delegates discussed and voted to pass a resolution on the dismissal of the 13th Provincial People's Council delegate, term 2021 - 2026, and the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, term 2021 - 2026 for Mr. Dang Van Minh.

Speaking at the closing session, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van requested the Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies, units and localities to review the progress of key projects and works in the area in conjunction with the public investment plan and budgetary management.

Regarding the delay in handing over the site of the North-South Expressway project in the East, the Provincial People's Committee needs to direct localities to review the contents and problems to report to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for direction and resolution.

The issues have been thoroughly resolved but people still do not agree, the locality needs to persistently propagate and mobilize, not to delay; because this is a key national project related to many localities.
