Quang Ngai assigns readiness to implement high-speed railway and highway projects

Quang Ngai province's traffic infrastructure is gradually being completed.

Leaders of the Quang Ngai Department of Construction confirmed that the Department has reported on key transport infrastructure projects in the area that are about to be implemented. In particular, the focus is on the Quang Ngai - Kon Tum expressway project; the North - South high-speed railway project; Mang Den airport, Ly Son airport...

For the high-speed railway project, the Department of Construction has advised the Provincial People's Committee to assign specific tasks to departments, branches and the Provincial Party Standing Committee to establish a steering committee for site clearance. At the same time, it is ready to implement in accordance with the Government 's progress requirements.

Regarding the Quang Ngai - Kon Tum Expressway Project, the Department has received the dossier and continues to coordinate with Project Management Board 85 to implement it. Along with that, the locality has reviewed and added mineral mines to the planning to ensure the source of construction materials for the project, avoiding the scarcity when starting construction.

Meanwhile, the two projects of Mang Den and Ly Son airports have been consulted by the Provincial People's Committee to work with the Ministry of Construction to approve the addition of the Mang Den airport planning to the master plan for the development of the national airport system for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 in a shortened order.

After the merger, Quang Ngai province has a very large traffic system of more than 1,560 km of roads of all kinds from district level and above. Of which, the national highway system has 6 routes with a length of 541 km; 24 provincial routes with a length of more than 866 km.

Regarding the Quang Ngai - Kon Tum Expressway Project, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Sam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and propose the selection of a unit to prepare a pre-feasibility study report and urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee to deploy the next steps; research and refer to models of a number of localities to advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct, manage and organize implementation, ensuring progress according to the Government's requirements.
