Ms. Huynh Thi Thanh Binh (from Binh Dinh), is currently Vice Principal of the School of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Ms. Binh underwent all her training in Vietnam. She graduated with a degree in Computer Science from Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 1997, then studied for a master's and doctorate degree at the same university.
However, her 2011 doctoral thesis was written in English. She is fluent in two foreign languages, English and Japanese.

In 1998, at the age of 23, she became a lecturer in the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Science and Technology. In 2014, when the Faculty of Information Technology developed into the Institute of Information Technology and Communications, Ms. Binh held the position of Deputy Director and Head of the Laboratory for Modeling, Simulation and Optimization Research.
In 2021, Ms. Binh was appointed Vice Principal of the School of Information Technology and Communications and has held this position until now.
Ms. Binh's three main research directions are multi-task evolution, applying evolutionary algorithms to solve practical optimization problems, and combining evolutionary computation with modern deep learning methods.
She has published 88 scientific articles, including 39 articles in Q1 journals (top 25% of the world's scientific journals), and 10 articles in Q2 journals.
The only female candidate for professor of information technology (IT) this year has won many awards in leading competitions in the field of evolutionary computation. She has a citation index of up to 2,588 (very high), demonstrating the value and influence of her research in the scientific community.
In addition to Ms. Binh, the Information Technology industry also has another professor candidate, Mr. Huynh Trung Hieu, born in 1975, currently Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry.
