Compared to the list of candidates proposed by the basic professor council for recognition of meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025 (a total of 933 candidates), 98 candidates were eliminated.

Thus, the number of candidates eliminated at the industry-level council this year is 7 more than last year.

Compared with the number of candidates proposed by the Faculty Council, about 89.43% of candidates were recommended by the industry-level council to be recognized as meeting the standards of professors and associate professors in 2025.

According to this list, the Economics Professor Council has the most candidates with 136 people (7 professor candidates and 129 associate professor candidates). Compared to the initial number of candidates in this council of 153 people (11 professor candidates, 142 associate professor candidates), 17 candidates were eliminated (4 professor candidates, 13 associate professor candidates).

This is also the industry council with the largest number of candidates failing to pass the industry and inter-industry council review round this year.

The medical faculty council had the second largest number of candidates with 117 people (14 professor candidates, 103 associate professor candidates). Compared to the initial number of 124 candidates (15 professor candidates, 109 associate professor candidates), 7 candidates were eliminated.

The information technology industry council, the electrical - electronics - automation industry council, and the earth science - mining industry council each had 10 candidates eliminated.

Notably, there are six councils where 100% of candidates passed the review round of the professor council of the industry and interdisciplinary fields, including transportation, metallurgy, history - archaeology - ethnology/anthropology, psychology, irrigation and literature.

Previously (September 2025), the State Council of Professors announced the list of candidates proposed by the basic professor councils (26 professor councils of different disciplines and interdisciplinary disciplines) to be considered for recognition of meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025.

Accordingly, there are a total of 933 candidates (an increase of 260 compared to 2024) with 89 professor candidates (an increase of 26 candidates compared to last year), 844 associate professor candidates (an increase of 234 candidates compared to last year).

2025 is the year with a sharp increase in the number of candidates proposed for recognition as professors and associate professors, about 38.6% compared to last year (673 candidates in 2024).

The list of candidates for associate professor and professor in 2025 just announced does not include candidates from the Council of Professors of Security Science and the Council of Professors of Military Science.

The State Council of Professors will meet from October 20 to October 31.

From this list of candidates, the State Council of Professors for the 2024 - 2029 term will hold meetings to consider recognition of meeting the standards for the titles of professor and associate professor in 2025.
