The survey team from the National Center for Clean Water and Rural Environmental Sanitation discussed with households in Con An Tan about the water source used daily.
According to the People's Committee of Thoi An Hoi commune, more than 99% of the people in the commune use hygienic water for daily life; of which, more than 65% of rural households use clean water from the centralized water supply system. The commune has two hamlets located separately from the mainland, Con An Tan and Con An Cong, which do not have a centralized clean water supply system for daily use. People in these two hamlets use Hau River water and well water. The survey team visited the homes of some households in Con An Tan. Most households here use well water for bathing, washing, and cooking every day, and for drinking water, they buy 20-liter filtered water tanks; some households use containers, jars, and urns to store rainwater for drinking.
Mr. Nguyen Son Tung, Deputy Director of the National Center for Clean Water and Rural Environmental Sanitation, said that based on the actual needs of the locality, the Center will build a centralized clean water supply model, deploying it to households far from rural clean water pipelines or households far from the mainland. At the same time, develop technical guidance documents on providing clean water that meets household standards, deploying it to relevant management units and localities to make the supply of clean water in rural areas safer and more effective.
