Delegates attending the workshop.
At the workshop, delegates were updated and provided with information on the implementation of the Project on sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta region by 2030 (Project on 1 million hectares of rice). The application of mechanization, digitalization and introduction of models and initiatives on green finance, agricultural insurance, technological solutions for straw treatment, and reduction of seeds and fertilizers by domestic and foreign units, businesses and partners have been and are being implemented.
Delegates also spent time exchanging and discussing the connection of supply and demand information to promote linkages and cooperation. Proposing solutions and mechanisms to connect technology and finance to support farmers, businesses and cooperatives to access capital and technology conveniently and effectively in the process of implementing the 1 million hectare rice project.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development, participated in the discussion at the workshop.
According to the report of the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development, credit institutions and related units, the implementation of the loan program under the 1 million hectare rice project is starting strongly. Credit institutions have deployed many preferential credit packages on a large scale for linkage chains and specialized areas for high-quality, low-emission rice.
The Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development has coordinated with the State Bank to issue and publish a list of 942,357 hectares of specialized areas eligible for loans, along with specific instructions on the linkage between cooperatives - enterprises - banks. This is a very important step in shifting from individual support to a value chain financial mechanism, creating momentum to promote the entire ecosystem of the 1 million hectare rice project. At the same time, the implementation of agricultural insurance models also helps farmers feel secure in investing in production and minimizing risks.
