Thong Nhat General Hospital is a grade I, specialized, final level hospital of the province with 1,050 beds. The hospital's ENT Department consists of 17 people, including 8 doctors, 8 nurses and 1 caretaker. The total number of inpatient beds in the department is 16.

Regarding equipment, the department has a Karl Storz endoscopy system, Amplivox audiometer, Shinei suction machine and Zeiss - Leica microsurgery glasses...
The department has performed major techniques such as: endoscopic sinus surgery, endoscopic microsurgery of the larynx, microsurgical tympanoplasty, septal surgery and many other complex ear and throat surgeries.
In 2024, the department examined more than 14,100 patients; performed 698 surgeries. In the first 9 months of 2025 alone, 514 surgeries were performed.

As the province's final hospital, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of Thong Nhat General Hospital is also a reliable address for practical training and continuous training for hospitals and lower-level medical centers such as: Trang Bom Regional Medical Center, Vinh Cuu Regional Medical Center, Thong Nhat Regional Medical Center.

In addition to the advantages, up to now, Thong Nhat General Hospital still faces many challenges in receiving and mastering more advanced and complex techniques. The transfer rate of ENT cancer patients is still high, accounting for nearly 68% of the total number of transfers in 2024 of the department.
To improve the quality of treatment and reduce the number of patients being transferred to higher levels, Thong Nhat General Hospital hopes to receive support from the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital in transferring advanced and specialized techniques such as: frontal sinus expansion surgery; pharyngeal - uvula - uvula plastic surgery to treat snoring; tonsillectomy using coblator technology; ENT cosmetic surgery; perfecting the hearing unit...

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Tuan Canh highly appreciated the results that the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of Thong Nhat General Hospital has achieved in the past time. At the same time, he suggested that the hospital continue to provide more training for the department's human resources; the equipment is quite good but still needs to be supplemented. The Central Hospital of Otorhinolaryngology is ready to provide professional support and transfer advanced techniques according to the needs of Thong Nhat General Hospital. Thereby, improving the quality of examination and treatment of ENT diseases at the hospital.
The delegation of the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital also highly appreciated the participation and strong direction of the leaders of Dong Nai province and the leaders of the Dong Nai Department of Health. This is a favorable condition for the hospital to transfer advanced technology to hospitals in Dong Nai in the coming time.
