Master, Doctor Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Province Department of Health said: This is an important activity to update new knowledge on principles, procedures and advances in intravenous infusion techniques. At the same time, analyze and identify risks, complications and propose preventive measures. Thereby, improve the quality of medical examination, treatment, health care and ensure patient safety at medical facilities in the province.

During the program, more than 140 delegates listened to Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Le Thi Anh Thu, President of the Vietnam Infection Control Association, update international recommendations and policies for managing blood infections related to intravenous infusion. According to experts, in reality, the rate of cases requiring intravenous infusion is increasing, forcing nursing staff to perform this procedure more frequently. Pathogens are also increasingly diverse and complex, increasing the risk of infection if aseptic procedures are not strictly followed. In addition, the knowledge and skills of safe practice of a number of medical staff are still not really adequate, while human resources, materials and equipment at some medical units are limited. All of these factors pose an urgent need to improve professional capacity and awareness of safety in intravenous infusion.

To improve the situation, health facilities need to increase compliance with sterile procedures, provide regular training to health care workers, and closely monitor catheter placement and care. In addition, the use of standard, antibacterial materials and regular monitoring and feedback also play an important role.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tran Thuy Khanh Linh, Principal of the School of Nursing - Medical Technology ( Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy) shared with delegates the content of evidence-based practice in peripheral intravenous infusion.
