The three localities will discuss and agree on the time, location and scale of the World Heritage Recognition Ceremony. After reaching an agreement, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will be notified to direct and guide the localities to develop an organization plan with an appropriate scale, commensurate with the stature and global value of the Complex of Monuments.
To prepare and organize the above event, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province has sent a report to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the organization of the program and event. At the same time, it has sent a document requesting the People's Committee of Hai Phong city and the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province to direct the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh to prepare for the organization of the program.
In the past time, especially in the 5 years (2020-2025), the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Ninh province, Bac Ninh province and Hai Phong city have focused on leading, directing, closely coordinating to research and build a dossier on the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex to report to competent authorities to submit to UNESCO for inclusion in the list of World Cultural Heritage.
On July 12, 2025, at the 47th Session of the World Heritage Committee (UNESCO) held in Paris, France, the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son and Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex in Quang Ninh Province, Bac Ninh Province and Hai Phong City was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage.
The event of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage is a major and outstanding event of Vietnam in 2025. This is the second inter-provincial heritage in Vietnam, after the World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province will organize a special art program "Thanh am Yen Tu - A thousand-year heritage" at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow, August 17, at Minh Tam Square, Yen Tu Ward, Quang Ninh Province. Within the overall framework of the program, there will be an announcement of the outstanding global values of the Heritage Complex and an assessment of the efforts and effective coordination between the three localities: Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh and Hai Phong, in the process of building a dossier to nominate UNESCO to recognize the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex as a World Heritage Site. This is also an opportunity to introduce and honor the outstanding values of the Monument Complex, contributing to raising public awareness and spreading the value of national cultural heritage to the public.
