World Cultural Festival in Hanoi - key diplomatic event in 2025

The "World Cultural Festival" is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People's Committee from October 10-12, 2025 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Center - a World Cultural Heritage recognized by UNESCO.

Participating in the World Cultural Festival, the public will be able to admire unique cultural colors, from performing arts, music, folk dance, traditional costumes, to cinema, fine arts and world cuisine - all blending together in the heritage space of Thang Long Imperial Citadel - the thousand-year-old cultural convergence center of the capital Hanoi.

The opening ceremony of the World Cultural Festival took place at 8:00 p.m. on October 10 at the central stage of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, bringing together many famous Vietnamese artists such as Tung Duong, Hoa Minzy... and international artists, bringing emotional performances, harmoniously combining tradition and modernity, highlighting the cultural identity of each country.

After the opening ceremony, there will be a series of special events and activities taking place at Thang Long Imperial Citadel on October 11-12. The fashion show “Footsteps of Heritage” is a unique highlight of the festival, gathering nearly 100 traditional costumes from participating countries, promising to be the richest and most spectacular international national costume show ever in Vietnam.

On the “Cultural Road”, visitors can visit booths from nearly 50 countries such as: China, Korea, Japan, the United States, Russia, France, Iran, Angola, Laos, the Philippines... The booths provide a special introduction to the history, culture, art, language, costumes and customs of each country participating in the festival.

Also within the framework of the festival, the international film screening program will introduce a series of outstanding Vietnamese and international cinema works at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Hall. Cinema lovers in a special cultural space will experience unprecedented emotions with the 7th art.

On the round stage, many traditional cultural art performances will be staged from 9am to 9pm on October 11-12... Accordingly, traditional Vietnamese art performances will be performed before international friends including: Central Highlands Gong, Bac Ninh Quan Ho, Cheo, Chau Van, Folk Dance... Besides, other countries will also participate in art performances such as: Japan, Russia, Cambodia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Iran...

The “Food Street” area throughout the weekend will be a place for visitors to explore multinational cuisine and participate in culinary workshops to learn about typical dishes of many different cultures.

The World Cultural Festival is expected to bring a picture culture vibrant, colorful, where art becomes the common language connecting humanity.

With the motto "Culture is the foundation - Art is the means", the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is not only a large-scale cultural event, but also a typical cultural diplomacy activity of Vietnam in 2025, aiming to become an annual event of international stature.
