According to the concluding statement of the working session with the Provincial People's Committee and departments on promoting the growth of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and the disbursement of public investment capital, Quang Tri Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Phuong requested that units continue to closely follow the growth scenario for 2026. The overarching goal is to ensure that the province's GRDP growth reaches 10.6% this year.
According to the Provincial Party Secretary's conclusion, the industrial and construction sector must play a leading role. The Department of Industry and Trade and the Economic Zone Management Board are tasked with focusing on promoting industrial energy projects, seaports, infrastructure for the East-West Economic Corridor, and key projects capable of generating significant output in the remaining months of the year.
In addition, the tourism , trade, and service sectors are required to maximize the exploitation of cultural events and develop spiritual and ecological tourism products to create further growth momentum for the service sector.
The agricultural sector is focusing on developing industrial-scale livestock farming, production along the value chain, and expanding consumer markets, gradually moving towards export.
Another important task emphasized by the Provincial Party Secretary is improving the investment and business environment, promoting administrative reform and digital transformation to enhance competitiveness and support businesses and investors.
In parallel with the goal of economic growth, the Provincial Party Secretary requested that all levels and sectors identify the disbursement of public investment capital as a key political task for the year. The disbursement results must be linked to the evaluation and ranking of the performance of the heads of agencies, units, and investors.
The Provincial People's Committee is tasked with directing investors to accelerate construction progress, acceptance testing, and payment for completed work; striving to achieve a disbursement rate of at least 35% of the allocated capital by the end of June. Units that fail to meet the progress schedule will be held accountable according to regulations.
To achieve this goal, the Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee requested a focus on resolving bottlenecks related to land clearance, investment procedures, construction materials, contractor capacity, and other difficulties arising during the project implementation.
Reallocate funds from projects with slow disbursement rates to projects with better disbursement potential, following the principle of "funds flow according to progress and efficiency." Heads of departments and agencies, chairpersons of People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones, and project owners are directly responsible for the progress and quality of the assigned tasks.
The relevant authorities must regularly monitor, supervise, and report on the implementation results in order to promptly address difficulties and resolve any emerging issues.
In the context of the newly merged Quang Tri province facing the need to accelerate socio-economic development, the message delivered by the Provincial Party Secretary is to maximize the mobilization of growth drivers, tighten discipline in public service implementation, and enhance the responsibility of leaders, thereby creating a breakthrough to achieve the GRDP growth target of 10.6% in 2026.
