- Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai, where did the inspiration for you and your colleagues to write the series " The 15th National Assembly : A term of '7 daring' and '3 decisive'" come from?
- As an invited delegate (observer) attending several sessions of the 15th National Assembly, I was very impressed with the sense of responsibility, creativity, and dedication to the common good of many National Assembly delegates. I was also fortunate to witness many activities of the National Assembly and its delegates; meeting and exchanging views directly with National Assembly delegates, I further understood their passion and concerns.

That vivid and insightful information sparked my idea to write a series of articles about the "7 Dares" and "3 Decisions" spirit of the 15th National Assembly. I assembled a group of reporters who regularly follow and report on the National Assembly's activities to work on this topic. The aim was also to contribute the voice of voters nationwide in reviewing the activities of the 15th National Assembly. I am very pleased that our series of articles was awarded the A prize, the fourth Dien Hong Prize.
- Specifically, what are the "7 dares" and "3 decisions," sir?
Over the past 80 years, the development path of the Vietnamese National Assembly has been a steadfast, creative, and constantly innovative journey. Building upon 80 years of glorious history, from the first general election in 1946 to the current 15th National Assembly term, the highest state power body has always accompanied every step of the country's development and remained closely connected to the lives of the people.

The National Assembly clearly demonstrates the spirit of 7 "dares": daring to think; daring to speak; daring to act; daring to take responsibility; daring to innovate and create; daring to confront difficulties and challenges; and daring to act for the common good, and 3 "decisions": determination, decisiveness, and determination to act.
Our country is entering a new era of development, facing great opportunities, and it is an inevitable and objective task for the National Assembly to clearly demonstrate the spirit of 7 "dares" and 3 "decisions"; to continue comprehensive reform, enhance legislative capacity, supervision, and decision-making on important issues, creating strong momentum for the rapid and sustainable development of the country in the new era.
- How did you and your colleagues organize and implement this series to create its own unique identity and style?
- We identify the contradictions and bottlenecks in life and examine the results and solutions of the National Assembly through specific activities. For example, in the field of defense and security, a crucial and confidential area of the nation, we are well aware of the existing problems, difficulties, and obstacles in this field and study how the National Assembly solves them according to its functions and roles. In short, to clarify the topic, we pose a problem and reflect on the National Assembly's solution.
- What did you take the most pleasure from completing this series?
- I've only dared to fully appreciate the theme of this series of articles. The practical work of the 15th National Assembly still contains many excellent and courageous aspects, demonstrating a willingness to overcome limitations to fulfill its responsibilities to the voters and the people nationwide. However, we haven't covered everything, so there's still some regret. This also motivates the authors to continue pursuing this topic in the future.
- Winning the top prize at the Dien Hong Award, coinciding with the upcoming 80th anniversary of the National Assembly, what are your feelings and those of your team of authors?
- I had never participated in the Dien Hong Award before. Some members of the group had participated but hadn't won. Therefore, participating and winning this time was a great joy for me and the group of authors. It's even more honorable that this year's Dien Hong Award coincides with the 80th anniversary of the National Assembly's history. We are determined to strive even harder in our role as journalists, especially in writing about the National Assembly, the representatives of the people.
- How do you assess the significance of the Dien Hong Award in contemporary journalistic life, especially in motivating and encouraging journalists to cover topics related to the National Assembly?
- In my opinion, the Dien Hong Award is one of the three biggest journalism awards in the country, along with the National Journalism Award and the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award. Therefore, the Dien Hong Award plays a very significant role and has great meaning in journalistic activities. The award focuses on the topic of the National Assembly and People's Councils, so I expect that the critical analysis of the entries will be increasingly enhanced, practically contributing to improving the quality of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.
Thank you!
