I received my civil servant recruitment decision and will start working in November 2025 at a primary school. Prior to that, from November 2021 to October 2025, I was a teacher at a private primary school, and I paid social insurance contributions according to my profession and job position throughout that period.
I have submitted all the necessary documents requesting exemption from the probationary period. I would like to ask if I am eligible for exemption from the probationary period? (Nguyen Thi Van Hoc, thivanhoc***@gmail.com)

Decree No. 85/2023/ND-CP stipulates that individuals recruited into civil service positions are exempt from probationary periods if they meet the following conditions: They are assigned to work in a field that matches their training and the expertise and professional skills of their previous job;
The period of employment in previous professional or technical work, performed in accordance with the law and with mandatory social insurance contributions (if not continuous, the periods are added together), must be equal to or greater than the corresponding probationary period as stipulated in Clause 2 of this Article.
If the conditions in point a are met but the required time period in point b is not yet sufficient, the time already worked will be deducted from the probationary period as prescribed. For cases not requiring a probationary period, employees will receive 100% of their salary and allowances (if any). The head of the public service unit must send the employee to a training course to complete the standards and conditions of the professional job title before appointment.
Based on the regulations mentioned above, you need to contact the relevant local authorities for guidance and satisfactory answers regarding the implementation within their delegated authority for managing civil servants.
Readers can send any questions or concerns regarding policies and regulations for teachers to the "Readers' Mailbox" section of the Education & Times Newspaper: 15 Hai Ba Trung Street (Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi).
