VinFuture Fund officially launches 2024 season

After 3 years of implementation, the Award has attracted 3 times the number of nominations - from 599 projects in the first year to 1,389 projects in 2023.

With a comprehensive vision, aiming for diversity and the mission of serving humanity, creating positive impacts on the lives of billions of people around the world - VinFuture has successfully organized 3 seasons, affirming its reputation and position in the world scientific community.

President Vo Van Thuong presented the VinFuture 2023 Prize to four scientists for their breakthrough inventions that create a sustainable foundation for green energy through solar cell production and lithium-ion battery storage.

Inventions and scientific and technological solutions to participate in the 2024 season must fully meet the nomination criteria of the Award* and be nominated by prestigious organizations and individuals in Science and Technology around the world .

Nominated projects will be evaluated through screening and selection steps by the Preliminary Council and the VinFuture Prize Council, including prestigious scientists and world-leading experts who have won prestigious awards such as Nobel, Turing, Millennium Technology, etc.

The VinFuture 2023 Special Prize for Scientists from Developing Countries honored Prof. Vo Tong Xuan (the first Vietnamese scientist to receive the VinFuture Prize) and Prof. Gurdev Singh Khush (Indian-American).

Sharing his expectations for the 4th season, Prof. Richard Henry Friend – Chairman of the VinFuture Prize Council, said: “ The VinFuture Prize’s broad coverage across most areas of science and technology has been clearly demonstrated through the awardees and winners of the previous three seasons.

The honored fields all affirm their essentiality to human life such as agriculture, medicine, environmental science, global information technology, renewable energy systems - including solar panels and Lithium-ion batteries.

We are honored to have been accepted by thousands of scientists around the world as a nomination partner for the VinFuture Prize. But we still want to reach out to more places around the globe, to look for technological advances happening all over the planet, not just in places that are already strong in scientific research .”

The nomination period for the VinFuture Prize Season 4 will end at 14:00 on April 17, 2024 (Vietnam time, GMT+7). Nominations submitted after this deadline will be automatically transferred for consideration for the 2025 season.

To provide information to nominating partners, VinFuture Foundation will organize two online seminars with the participation of representatives of the Award Council, the Preliminary Council and VinFuture Prize Winners in the first quarter of 2024.

On the evening of December 20, the VinFuture Awards Ceremony 2023 took place at the Hoan Kiem Theater (Hanoi), gathering world-class artists and hundreds of the world's leading scientists.

Previously, the recently concluded VinFuture 2023 season received a strong response from the global science and technology community with nearly 1,400 quality nominations from scientists, researchers, and inventors from five continents around the world. The third season also left a mark of success by connecting and inspiring great inspiration to domestic science.
