Three official mascots for the 2026 World Cup have been unveiled.

On September 26th, the International Football Federation (FIFA) officially unveiled the three mascots for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Each mascot not only represents the host nation but also reflects the distinctive cultural identity, rich heritage, and vibrant spirit of that country. The appearance of Maple, Zayu, and Clutch symbolizes unity, diversity, and a shared passion for football.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino shared: “Maple, Zayu, and Clutch embody joy, dynamism, and a spirit of unity. This is also the spirit of the FIFA World Cup. The three mascots will contribute to creating a fantastic atmosphere for a groundbreaking tournament. I can imagine children wearing shirts with the mascots, the mascots shaking hands with football legends, or even appearing in video games played by millions worldwide.”

The three mascots have the following storylines:

Maple, an artistic moose from Canada, is a fan of street art, music , and the role of goalkeeper. Maple constantly travels across the provinces of the Maple Leaf country, bringing with her a spirit of creativity, resilience, and a strong personality. With her exceptional goalkeeping skills and leadership qualities, Maple embodies boundless vitality and national pride.

The Zayu, a jaguar from the southern Mexican jungle, is a symbol of the country's rich cultural heritage and vibrant spirit. The name Zayu is inspired by unity, strength, and joy. A skillful and agile striker, the Zayu makes every defense wary. Off the field, the Zayu is deeply connected to Mexican culture through dance, food , and festivals, becoming an ambassador that unites communities across borders.

Clutch, the bald eagle representing the United States, is a character of exploration, soaring across the vast landscapes of America with an open mind and optimistic spirit. On the field, Clutch is brave and skillful; off the field, Clutch is a leader, inspiring and connecting people with his enthusiasm and passion. Like the best midfielders, Clutch spreads the spirit of the game, affirming that soaring high is not just about physical ability, but also about passion, ideals, and endless joy.

Furthermore, for the first time in FIFA history, the three official mascots will become playable characters in the new video game called FIFA Heroes - a product within the rapidly growing FIFAe ecosystem aimed at popularizing digital football to a wider global audience.

Additionally, FIFA Super League Soccer on the Roblox platform will also feature a series of interactive missions with each mascot, offering rewards and experiences linked to each character.

Through this, FIFA hopes that Maple, Zayu, and Clutch will be everywhere, from stadiums to side events, welcoming international friends, inspiring the younger generation, and igniting the passion for the top matches taking place from June 11th to July 19th, 2026. This is also the first time the tournament will feature 48 participating teams.
