Launching the Executive Board of the House of Wisdom, Nguyen Trai Secondary School

Implementing the Conclusion of the Standing Committee of Son La City Party Committee on strengthening leadership in building Son La city to meet UNESCO's criteria of a Global Learning City, the Board of Directors of Nguyen Trai Secondary School has built the House of Wisdom on the basis of developing from the existing library.

Accordingly, the Wisdom House of Nguyen Trai Secondary School includes a charity library with thousands of books on many fields; a local corner displaying traditional costumes, props, and items imbued with the culture of ethnic groups in the Northwest... serving the reading, research, and study needs of teachers and students.

The House of Wisdom is a practical and meaningful activity of Nguyen Trai Secondary School before the new school year 2024 - 2025, aiming to create an open, unlimited learning space for students in the process of equipping knowledge, lifelong learning, and comprehensive development.

Thus, up to now, in Son La city, there have been 39 Wisdom Houses of groups and villages in 12 communes, wards and Nguyen Trai Secondary School.

Attending the launching ceremony of the Wisdom House of Nguyen Trai Secondary School and visiting some Wisdom Houses in residential groups in Son La City, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of the Lifelong Learning Institute, founder of the Compassionate Bookcase program and the Wisdom House, was impressed with the spacious, neat and clean reading and studying spaces. The Wisdom Houses also have many creative ways to have good books and regularly update new books to serve the needs of the people and students.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan committed: “The Lifelong Learning Institute and the Wisdom House network will provide maximum support to the Wisdom Houses in Son La City in organizing activities, especially connecting and inviting domestic and international professors, lecturers, and students to exchange culture and academics. We can also connect Son La City to establish a sister city with a foreign city with similar culture and society. I think these things will be really meaningful for the Son La Global Learning City”.

Representatives of sponsors presented books to the House of Wisdom at Nguyen Trai Secondary School and the House of Wisdom in villages and hamlets in Son La City.

On this occasion, with the sponsorship of many organizations and philanthropists, the Humanitarian Bookcase Program and the House of Wisdom presented 66 bookcases to Nguyen Trai Secondary School and 10 Houses of Wisdom in Son La city.
