According to AS , "Los Blancos" want to bring back former goalkeeper Kepa. The Spanish goalkeeper previously played at the Bernabeu on loan in the 2023/24 season. Kepa and Lunin fiercely competed for the starting goalkeeper position at Real Madrid after Thibaut Courtois' long-term absence in the summer of 2023.
Initially, Kepa was favored by manager Carlo Ancelotti and given the opportunity to be the starting goalkeeper. However, for the remainder of the season, Lunin performed more impressively and relegated Kepa to the bench. Real Madrid also did not renew Kepa's contract, allowing him to return to the Premier League to play for Bournemouth.
Lunin extended his contract with Real Madrid until 2030 in September 2024, but he is considering leaving when Courtois returns. The Ukrainian goalkeeper wants to play regularly to maintain his form. Real Madrid are willing to consider offers for Lunin this summer.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports , Kepa revealed he had a happy time at Real Madrid: "It was only a year, but I enjoyed a lot, including winning two La Liga titles and the Champions League. It's true that I had ups and downs at the club."
According to the Telegraph , Bournemouth are also considering buying Kepa outright from Chelsea. The Spanish goalkeeper could leave "The Blues" for just £5 million next summer. This is a one-year early release clause from his previous contract with Chelsea. The 30-year-old goalkeeper previously extended his contract until June 2026.
In the 2024/25 season, the Spanish goalkeeper made 22 appearances in the Premier League and became a key player for the club.
