Ricky Martin and his gay partner reach divorce agreement

According to legal documents obtained by People , the owner of the famous song Livin' La Vida Loca – Ricky Martin – has just signed a written agreement to end their marriage without any disputes.

Ricky Martin (51 years old) and Jwan Yosef (38 years old) just need the judge's approval for everything to be resolved.

Last month, Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef announced their divorce, sharing the news exclusively with People .

"We have decided to end our marriage with love, respect and dignity for our children and to honor what we have experienced as a couple during our many wonderful years together," the Puerto Rican superstar and the Syrian-Swedish artist said in a joint statement.

The former couple continued: "Our greatest desire now is to continue to have a healthy, dynamic family and a relationship focused on peace and seeing each other as friends to continue to raise our children together, maintaining the respect and love we have for each other."

They have two children: daughter Lucia (5 years old) and son Renn (4 years old). Previously, in 2008, Ricky Martin welcomed twin sons Matteo and Valentino through surrogacy.

Martin and Yosef first connected on Instagram in 2015, and dated for six months after meeting in person in London. They made their red carpet debut at the 2016 amFAR Gala, announced their engagement that same year, and tied the knot in 2018.

Suddenly after revealing his plans for divorce, Ricky Martin opened up to Telemundo Puerto about his decision to separate and his parental responsibilities to his daughter Lucia and son Renn.

"Jwan and I will always be a family. We have two children together and we will raise them together," the Grammy-winning musician said.

Ricky Martin reveals more about the reason for the divorce: "This did not happen naturally. We planned for this situation a long time ago, before the pandemic. We experienced all the ups and downs, crying and laughing together. When the public found out, we went through a long process of deep grief."
