Rodrygo “ignores” when fans ask about Arsenal

The 24-year-old featured in just three of Real Madrid's most recent FIFA Club World Cup 12.5s, playing just 92 minutes in total. Rodrygo's notable absence from the starting line-up under new coach Xabi Alonso has raised doubts over his future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to COPE radio , Real Madrid's board of directors do not want to sell Rodrygo but are also prepared for the worst by setting a transfer price of up to 100 million euros. In addition, Rodrygo's current contract runs until 2028, with a contract termination clause of 1 billion euros - an almost unimaginable number in the current context.

Arsenal are said to be monitoring the player's situation closely, though. Manager Mikel Arteta wants to bolster his attack as the club prepares for the 12.5-12.6 season. However, the Gunners will face stiff competition from reigning Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain – who are looking for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe – as well as Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo's club in Saudi Arabia, who are willing to spend big money to lure stars.

Rodrygo has remained quiet about his future, and according to multiple sources in Spain, he is in no rush to make a decision. His lack of regular use at Real Madrid is clearly a worrying sign, but with his sky-high price tag, Rodrygo's departure remains a big question mark.

At present, no official offer has been sent to Real Madrid, and it is likely that negotiations will only really take place when the pre-season starts to heat up. Arsenal and their competitors will have to consider very carefully if they want to bring Rodrygo to the Spanish Royal team with a not-so-pleasant price.
