
At the meeting, Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced a draft plan to implement activities to promote the title of UNESCO Creative City of Music to be implemented in the coming time.
Specifically, it is expected that from now until 2028, the locality will organize many programs and activities to promote the title of UNESCO Creative City of Music, typically including: Southeast Asia Gong Harmony Program, LangBiang International Music Festival program and Great Forest Sound program.

Along with that, within the framework there are also activities, events, conferences, seminars, and Network forums organized by UNESCO and UNESCO members; activity programs of creative cities in Vietnam and activities of the UNESCO Office in Vietnam.

Promoting the title of Da Lat - creative city of music
Funding for organizing activities will be drawn from the state budget and social mobilization.
At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province also announced the decision to establish the Executive Board of the UNESCO Creative City of Music activities in Lam Dong province.
Accordingly, the Executive Board was established with the Head and Deputy Head being the Director and Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Members are representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Chairmen of wards separated from the People's Committee of Da Lat City (old), representatives of the Provincial Music Association...

In addition, the locality will also invite representatives of the UNESCO Office in Vietnam and representatives of the Department of International Cooperation - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to be members of the Executive Board.
Once established, the Executive Board will be responsible for directing the implementation and execution of tasks and commitments. Dalat's role as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of music ensures effectiveness and compliance with legal regulations.
The members of the Executive Board will work according to part-time regime, perform duties and be responsible to the Head of the Board for assigned tasks.
In addition, the Executive Board will have to research and propose appropriate mechanisms and policies to effectively implement Da Lat's commitments to participate in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
Previously, in October 2023, Da Lat city (old) was officially recognized as the next member of Vietnam to join the UNESCO Global Creative Cities Network in the field of music.

This is a favorable step for the locality in promoting and introducing Da Lat as one of the destinations for creative music tourism , becoming a key connection point for Vietnamese music with the international community through the exchange of experiences and practices between cities in the network, especially in the Southeast Asian region.
After dissolving the administrative unit, the People's Committee of Da Lat City (old) transferred the tasks of the UNESCO Creative City of Music to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province.
