On October 9, the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1 (Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee) announced the invitation to bid to select an investor for the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway project. This is the initial procedure for the process of selecting an investor under the public-private partnership (PPP) method.

Along with the announcement on the national bidding system, the document was also sent to the units in the consortium that had previously expressed interest to conduct a site survey according to regulations.

The Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway project is being prepared for investment under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

According to project documents, the total investment in phase 1 is 18,000 billion VND, including state capital of 6,500 billion VND (36%) and capital mobilized by investors of about 11,502 billion VND (64%).

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee is completing procedures to start the project in December 2025. The Tan Phu - Bao Loc Expressway is expected to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Technically, the project is a level I road traffic project, approximately 66km long, with a design speed of 80km/h. The completed phase has 4 lanes, with a 22m wide roadbed. In the diverging phase, there are still 4 lanes but the roadbed is only 17m wide, with an intermittent emergency lane.

The project also builds an intelligent traffic control center, toll stations, rescue stations, rest stops and other synchronous items.

The estimated land use demand is about 500.64ha ( Dong Nai about 86.34ha; Lam Dong about 414.3ha), the clearance area is on a complete scale of 4 lanes with a 22m wide roadbed. The area of forest use conversion is 145.69ha, of which Dong Nai is 41.44ha and Lam Dong is 104.25ha.

Tan Phu - Bao Loc Expressway connects Dong Nai province with Lam Dong province, expected to shorten travel time between the two localities and create development space for the Southeast - Southern Central Highlands gateway area.

In particular, when completed in 2027, the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway will join other expressways such as Dau Giay - Tan Phu (under construction), Bao Loc - Lien Khuong (under construction), Lien Khuong - Prenn (in use) to completely connect Da Lat - Ho Chi Minh City by expressway system, reducing travel time between the two localities to about 4 hours.
