The political art program Immortal Epic, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism , in coordination with the People's Committee of Da Nang City, took place on the evening of July 26 at the Monument Complex of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers (Quang Phu Ward, Da Nang City), and was broadcast live on VTV2 channel.
The event was held to commemorate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27, to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who fell in the war to protect the Fatherland.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong delivered the opening speech, emphasizing that "the program is an artistic journey through music , images and emotions, recreating the heroic spirit of previous generations, while also sending a message of gratitude as a source of continuity, as the strength to build the future. And above all, the message of the art program is a heartfelt message: 'We do not forget! The people do not forget'".

The touching story of mother Lang and mother Chinh
Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ngo Thi Lang (living in Hoi An) had both her husband and son sacrificed in two resistance wars. To this day, she still does not know exactly where her son lies in the vast cemetery.
When the image of the frail old mother wiping away her tears while talking about her beloved son was shown in the news clip, many viewers burst into tears along with the mother.
My son volunteered to go to the battlefield. If I kept him, my country would be lost. If I let him go, I would lose him. "I can only lie here in Nui Thanh cemetery, not knowing where I am lying. I can't find him even if I hide," my mother said.
And on this S-shaped strip of land, there are many mothers like Mother Lang. "In the Central region, there is Mother Bam, Mother Suot/Oh Thach Han! Blood stains the afternoon red/There is Mother Thu, ninety million loves/Seeing off her husband and children, five or seven times/For each child, mother's heart withers/Tears roll down, wetting her pillow at night"...

But mothers' tears are not only shed in wartime but also in peacetime. The program tells the story of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Tran Thi Chinh (residing in Ninh Binh province) whose son, a fire prevention and rescue police officer in Gia Lai province, died while performing rescue duties in March 2018.
The program took place right under the relief with a bust portrait of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Thu - a mother with 9 sons, 2 grandchildren and 1 son-in-law who sacrificed for the country, making the message of the Immortal Epic even more profound.
