Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament 2025: Determined not to back down in the face of difficulties

Coming to the 2025 Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament, each team has its own difficulties. But instead of being discouraged, they showed great determination.

Putting aside the difficulties, the teams all gathered and attended the opening ceremony of the Southern qualifying round of the Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament 2025 on the morning of October 10. Their appearance created a bustling atmosphere.

4 hours on the bus, 9 hours on the field

Can Tho Trade Union Football Team participates in the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament with forces from three regions: Can Tho city and the former Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces.

Due to the nature of their work and different places of residence, the team can only practice once a week. Many people have to travel nearly 100km just to participate in one practice session. There are even more exceptional cases where due to work schedules, they have to wait until the day of the tournament to meet their teammates.

Besides, the financial issue is also a big challenge for the Can Tho Trade Union team. The cost to prepare and invest carefully for the current team is a difficult problem.

Similar to Can Tho Trade Union, Tay Ninh 1 Trade Union football team also has its own difficulties. Compared to many other teams, this team has a more convenient travel distance.

However, they have very little time to prepare for the tournament. The reason is that many people are busy with work and earning a living so they cannot arrange the time. Many players of Tay Ninh 1 Trade Union even have to work overtime during the tournament.

Therefore, everyone could only gather from 4am on October 10th to travel from Ben Luc, Long An to Ho Chi Minh City to attend the opening ceremony, then go to the field in the afternoon. After this match, they returned to Tay Ninh, then the next day they left early to attend the match starting at 9am.

Such constant movement greatly affects the physical strength of the players.

Passion overcomes all

But those difficulties could not shake the spirit and will of the players. It seemed that all pressure was put aside when they entered the field.

Ms. Tran Tu Nhien - Vice President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation - shared: "Although the geographical distance of the players is far, we still select many talented and highly qualified people. Therefore, the difficulties and challenges that the team has to face are partly resolved."

With the spirit of solidarity and disciplined playing style, Can Tho Trade Union promises to be an interesting unknown for all opponents in the tournament. In the opening match, despite being behind, the players and coaching staff of Can Tho Trade Union tried their best and were rewarded with an equalizer, ending the match with a score of 1-1.

As for Tay Ninh 1 Trade Union, the players all brought a spirit of fair play and high determination.

Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, captain of Tay Ninh 1 Trade Union Team, shared: "With such a continuous and dense travel schedule, the team members tried to arrange their time to ensure physical strength and not affect their work.

Being able to participate in a special playground like the Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament 2025 is an honor and pride. So no matter how busy we are, when assigned a task, we are always willing to carry it out with the most serious attitude."

In 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Football Federation and Tuoi Tre newspaper will continue to coordinate to organize the Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament. Entering its third year of organization, the tournament has affirmed its position as an annual and prestigious playground for workers, civil servants and laborers across the country; contributing to promoting the movement of physical exercise and sports, improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers, civil servants and laborers in particular and the whole society in general.

This year's tournament is honored to receive the support of Truong Hai Group Joint Stock Company (THACO), Dong Luc Sports Group, HTP Pharmaceutical Investment Joint Stock Company, Hoa Sen Group Joint Stock Company, Sunshine Group, Saigon Water Corporation (SAWACO), Fashion Connection Joint Stock Company (Faslink), 108 Central Military Hospital, 175 Military Hospital and a number of enterprises.
