Stalls with familiar brands such as Kinh Do, Huu Nghi, Omeli... are neatly arranged, the moon cake boxes are eye-catching, creating a special attraction for passersby. This year, the mooncake market focuses on two main lines: baked cakes and sticky rice cakes. At Kinh Do stall in Vincom Plaza Son La, saleswoman Lo Thi Duyen said: Customers often choose long-standing brands because they trust the quality. Popular cake prices range from 60,000 VND - 428,000 VND/piece, weighing 60 to 800 grams. High-end, modern product lines cost 400,000 to 5,000,000 VND/box but purchasing power remains stable. Consumers prefer traditional fillings, such as: Mixed, green beans, lotus seeds. Meanwhile, new flavors such as melted lava chocolate, Japanese green tea or yuzu orange attract young people. In particular, this year high-end cakes are chosen by many customers as gifts.

Rich in flavor, this year's cake designs are also more diverse. From the compact 60 gram type for children, to the 800 gram type suitable as a gift, the market fully meets the needs. Some brands also launch cake combos with tea, a gift that is both sophisticated and luxurious. The packaging is elaborately designed, the paper box is modern and youthful, the wooden box is carved with intricate patterns, all exuding elegance and neatness.

Besides big brand cakes, handmade cakes are increasingly asserting their position, chosen by many young people because of the novelty, personality and personalization in each product. Ms. Giang Thuy Dat, owner of Bep Me Mit bakery, sub-area 2, Thuan Chau commune, shared: This year, the shop made more than 1,000 cakes, priced from 35-120 thousand VND/cake. Some schools and agencies also ordered cakes to organize Mid-Autumn Festival for children. Customers love new cake flavors, such as: Coconut rice, mochi, egg cream... I make cakes in small batches, every few days to keep them fresh and delicious. The cakes are less sweet, tasty and have a handmade mark, so many customers come back to buy more.

The appeal of handmade cakes has also made many families change their consumption habits. Mr. Hoang Ngoc Duong, Giang Lac village, To Hieu ward, said: Every year, my family only chooses Kinh Do or Huu Nghi because they are familiar. This year, when trying handmade cakes, I find the taste less sweet and more delicate. This Mid-Autumn Festival, my family will buy a combination of both types, both keeping tradition with branded cakes and refreshing the tray with handmade cakes.

The Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere spreads to localities... Ms. Vu Thi Mai, owner of a grocery store in Binh Thuan commune, shared: This year, I imported more than 300 cakes from Huu Nghi and Kinh Do, mainly popular lines, retailing at 50,000 - 70,000 VND/piece. Cakes with mixed fillings, green beans, and lotus seeds are still the most popular because they are both delicious and have reasonable prices. The number of customers buying this year has increased for both customers buying to eat and those buying as gifts. Consumers are especially interested in the expiry date and origin of the product.
