Speed up the entire route.

On the construction site of the 11.5km Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway, more than 300 officials, engineers, and workers, along with over 100 vehicles and pieces of equipment, work continuously every day. Contractors divide their work into dozens of teams, working day and night, prioritizing key items such as the roadbed, access roads, bridge and drainage systems, and asphalt paving.

The Ho Chi Minh Highway Project Management Board - the project's investor - stated that construction units are increasing their workforce and working three shifts a day to ensure the set progress. Construction items must be synchronized, and no technical bottlenecks should affect the progress of the entire route.

Present at the construction site these days, traveling along the highway, reporters observed a bustling and urgent construction atmosphere. Under the direction of the contractor consortium of Truong Son Construction Corporation - Construction Corporation No. 5 - JSC - Company No. 17, hundreds of machines such as road rollers, bulldozers, asphalt pavers, and hot asphalt concrete mixing plants are operating continuously at each construction point. Work teams are divided into shifts day and night to ensure the progress of the road surface, drainage system, overpasses, underpasses, and other auxiliary items are completed on schedule.

A representative of the XL1 contract consortium stated: “We are working day and night to meet the deadline for handing over the entire route on August 19th. Difficult sections, areas with weak foundations, or those affected by rain and wind are being prioritized for treatment to avoid delaying the project…”

At the construction site of the Hoang Van Thai overpass, worker Nguyen Van Toan said: "Since the directive to shorten the construction time from November 2025 to August 2025, all of us workers have stayed at the construction site, divided into three shifts continuously throughout the day, maintaining the highest intensity from then until now." Meanwhile, worker Pham Dat, from Quang Tri province, said that he hasn't been home for several months because he has had to work overtime for the project…

Representatives from the Central Vietnam Truong Son Construction Corporation stated that construction items such as overpasses, asphalt paving, and access roads are entering their final stages. The challenging aspect is the weather, but all personnel are determined to meet the deadline. Meanwhile, the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway project, which involves upgrading and expanding the bypass route of National Highway 1A, is being constructed while simultaneously being used for traffic, therefore ensuring traffic safety for vehicles traveling on the route is always a top priority.

Determined to finish on schedule.

With the goal of achieving technical opening to traffic on August 19th, the project has been accelerated, with both the investor and contractors working tirelessly. While the investor regularly inspects and closely monitors each item, requiring contractors to enhance safety and quality control and speed up construction on slow-moving sections, the contractors are also making efforts to supplement machinery, equipment, and personnel, and organize simultaneous construction of multiple project items in three shifts per day, including Saturdays and Sundays…

The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway is the final section connecting to the La Son - Tuy Loan expressway, playing a crucial role in completing the western North-South transportation axis and helping to alleviate congestion on National Highway 1A through the Central region. With a length of approximately 11.5km, the project resumed construction in mid-2023 after a long interruption and is now entering its final stages.

With a vibrant competitive spirit on the construction site and consensus from the central government to local authorities, the project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic on August 19th, creating a strong boost for the transportation infrastructure system in Central Vietnam in the coming time.

Mr. Ta Gia Manh Hung, Director of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway Project, said that in accordance with the Prime Minister 's directive, the investor and contractors have been accelerating construction, focusing on mobilizing machinery, equipment, personnel, materials, etc., and organizing simultaneous construction of many project items in 3 shifts per day.

With 2 interconnected interchanges, 11 bridges, 8 pedestrian underpasses, 62 culverts of various types, and 2 parallel service roads totaling over 20km in length, the project has a total investment of over 2,100 billion VND from the State budget. Construction began in September 2023, and according to the signed contract, the project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in November 2025.

During a recent site inspection, the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh Highway Project Management Board emphasized: No reason should be allowed to affect the handover of the entire route before August 19, 2025. Therefore, dividing the work into three continuous shifts per day and maintaining the highest construction intensity must always be applied.

Despite facing numerous challenges related to weather and terrain, the entire team must clearly demonstrate their determination to meet the deadline. The timely completion of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway will not only facilitate faster connections between Da Nang and the southern provinces, but also help alleviate congestion on National Highway 1A and promote rural development in the western part of the city.
