The Portuguese superstar announced on his personal page: "Big news to share with everyone today. I will be participating in the fighting game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. See you in the game on April 24."

Ronaldo will appear as a special warrior, using moves that are very similar to football. Two of his attacks include "Headed Clearance" (a powerful header attack) and "Slide Tackle" (a damaging tackle).

And of course, when winning, the character will perform the signature "Siuuu" celebration. The game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is developed by SNK, and sponsored by the MiSK Foundation - a non-profit organization based in Saudi Arabia.

The news immediately caused social media to explode. "This game is crazy but I like it", "What is this, it's so weird but looks cool", "Too cool, can't wait to play", "Excited to be able to choose Ronaldo"... are the common reactions of the online community.

This isn't the first time a footballer has dabbled in the world of fighting games. Ronaldinho was a face in the FIFA Street series. Harry Kane, Marco Reus and Neymar have all appeared in Fortnite. Erling Haaland has transformed into a warrior in the strategy game Clash of Clans.

"Ronaldo continues to expand the list of players across the gaming universe, and fans will certainly be eager to control CR7 to kick the ball to defeat opponents in the virtual world," The Sun described.

5 veterans still playing impressively Although no longer at their peak, veterans like Ronaldo, Messi, Modric, Dzeko and Ramos still shine brightly in their club colors.
