In the early morning of July 11, a mother turtle (family Vich) went to Cau Cang beach, Hon Cau island, Lien Huong commune, Lam Dong province to lay eggs. After the mother turtle completed the egg-laying process, staff of the Hon Cau Marine Protected Area Management Board and volunteers moved 112 eggs to the incubation area of the Patrol and Control Team station. This incubation helps the turtles hatch at a high rate, especially being strictly protected, avoiding the situation of eggs or baby turtles being violated. Photo: Tien Phong.
After the turtles hatch, the Patrol Team will release them back into the wild. The mother turtle (family Vich) above is the 6th time in 2025 that sea turtles have come to Hon Cau Island to lay eggs.
