The procession of Buddha's relics and the parade of flower floats in celebration of the Buddha's Birthday (Buddhist calendar 2570) in Hanoi started at 7 PM. The procession departed from the headquarters of the Vietnam Buddhist Association at Quan Su Pagoda, moving through Ly Thuong Kiet, Hang Bai, Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Thai To, Ba Trieu, and Hai Ba Trung streets before returning to the starting point.
The procession of Buddha's relics is one of the key spiritual events of this year's Buddha's Birthday season. This activity not only contributes to a solemn and serene atmosphere in the heart of the capital but also provides an opportunity for the Buddhist community to express their reverence for the Buddha.
According to the plan, the program will involve approximately 500 dignitaries, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers, along with 30-40 floats decorated with images of the Buddha's birth.
The procession through the central streets attracted large crowds of locals and Buddhists. Many people stood along both sides of the road to admire the view from afar.
The procession is also an opportunity for Buddhists and the people to pay homage to the Buddha's relics with reverence, and to offer prayers for national prosperity, social peace, and the well-being of the people.
