The Colors of the Purple Stream

When visiting Da Lat, most tourists know about Tuyen Lam Lake, but not many know the source of the water flowing into the lake: Tia Stream. Tia Stream is the source of the clear blue water that flows into Tuyen Lam Lake – the largest freshwater lake in Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province. It's often described as a "heavenly paradise" in the heart of Da Lat, yet very few tourists know about it.

Tia Stream is located about 7km from the center of Da Lat city. The area where Tia Stream flows into the lake, although part of the Tuyen Lam Lake system, possesses a unique beauty thanks to the presence of mangrove trees. This is one of the rare places in Da Lat with mangrove forests.

The most beautiful time to visit the flooded Dipterocarpus forest is in autumn and winter. In autumn, the trees begin to shed their leaves, the canopy gradually changing from green to yellow before falling, and new shoots sprout, creating a mix of green and red, with clusters of yellow flowers. This is the time when Tia Stream attracts the most tourists who come to admire the scenery and take photos, especially couples taking wedding photos.

Tia Stream possesses a very different charm of the misty land, captivating tourists with its mystical beauty like a fairyland. The stream's flow is surrounded by mountain ranges, forming a basin-like landscape.

Suoi Tia is a place where visitors can experience four distinct seasons in a single day: early mornings are damp and misty like spring, midday sun shines brightly like summer, evenings are beautiful with the sunset casting its light over the changing leaves like autumn, and nights turn cold like winter.

Tia Stream in Da Lat is one of the few destinations that still retains its pristine beauty and tranquility, where visitors can immerse themselves in nature.

If you plan to visit Tia Stream, the best time is late autumn when the Dipterocarpus trees begin to change their leaves, and on days with little wind and high humidity. Wake up early and arrive at Tia Stream and Tuyen Lam Lake before dawn to have the chance to admire the magical, ethereal scenery when mist covers the lake's surface.

Suoi Tia has a different beauty in each season, but it is most beautiful in late autumn when the trees begin to change their leaves. The yellowing leaves reflected on the lake's surface create a magical scene.
