Samsung announces refurbished Galaxy Z series for the first time

Samsung is expanding its Certified Re-Newed program, bringing it to Galaxy Z series devices for the first time.

Starting in August, Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 Certified Re-Newed devices will be available exclusively at Samsung.com, offering a great option for those who want to experience the Galaxy Z series for the first time at a great price.

If you're worried about these certified refurbished devices coming with scratches and dents on their screens, Samsung says that won't be an issue, stressing that the devices are "like new" and serviced by Samsung experts using "100% genuine parts."

Unlike the "refurbished" definition, Samsung's "rebuilt" definition - Certified Re-Newed goes through a more comprehensive process that includes testing 147 functions, replacing components, and even issuing a new IMEI number.

Each refurbished phone even comes with a new battery, hopefully avoiding any disasters like the Galaxy Note 7, along with a one-year manufacturer's warranty for added peace of mind.

Even though the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are two years old, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip is still powerful enough for most people.
