Samsung promises that Vision AI will revolutionize the Smart TV experience in the future. Vision AI brings artificial intelligence (AI) features similar to those on smartphones, making TVs more intuitive and intelligent.
Vision AI will make Samsung Smart TVs even smarter
Ahead of CES 2025, Samsung announced a number of new products, including the Odyssey G6, the first OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 500 Hz. The company also introduced a 3D audio technology called Eclipsa Audio, which is based on a partnership with Google, to replace Dolby Atmos.
“Samsung sees TVs not as a one-dimensional device for passive content consumption, but as intelligent, interactive companions that adapt to your needs,” said SW Yong, President and Head of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With Samsung Vision AI, we are redefining what screens can do, connecting entertainment, personalization and lifestyle solutions into a seamless experience that simplifies life.”
Vision AI helps elevate Smart TV
Vision AI is designed to simplify tasks, enhance entertainment, and help Smart TVs recognize their surroundings and automatically adjust to user preferences. The technology will be integrated across Samsung's entire product line, including Neo QLED, OLED QLED and The Frame models.
Some of the outstanding features of Vision AI include:
- Click to Search provides instant information about what's on screen—whether it's identifying an actor or exploring what's playing—all without interrupting the viewing experience.
Neo QLED 8K QN990F was also displayed by Samsung at CES 2025
- Live Translate, powered by an on-device AI translation model, removes language barriers by translating subtitles in real-time, allowing viewers to enjoy global content seamlessly.
- Generative Wallpaper turns your screen into a living, personalized canvas, allowing users to create images that perfectly match their interests or special occasions.
In addition to personalization, Vision AI also positions displays as hubs for smart living through integration with the SmartThings ecosystem:
- Home Insights provides real-time updates on the home environment, including safety alerts and daily updates, giving users peace of mind whether they are home or away.
- Pet and Family Care monitors loved ones, detecting unusual behavior in both pets and family members. It enhances comfort by automatically adjusting room settings, like dimming the lights when children sleep, and provides real-time updates and event recordings via TV.
In addition to enhancing the audio and visual experience through real-time content analysis, Samsung also said it will collaborate with Microsoft and Google to integrate AI capabilities, such as Microsoft Copilot AI, into new smart TV and display products.
In particular, Samsung launched its most advanced TV, the Neo QLED 8K QN990F. This Smart TV is equipped with the NQ8 AI Gen3 chip and many AI features such as 8K AI Upscaling Pro, Auto HDR Remastering Pro, Adaptive Sound Pro and Color Booster Pro. The company also introduced The Frame Pro with over 3,000 works of art and The Premiere 5 - the industry's first triple laser ultra-short throw projector.
