Diverse support channels

Businesses proactively recruiting early will help reduce labor turnover after the Lunar New Year, creating a foundation for a more sustainable year of production and business.

According to a report by the Hai Phong City Department of Internal Affairs, in addition to preferential policies on loan terms and interest rates to support workers in developing self-employment livelihoods, the city is promoting activities to connect with the labor market. A notable point in the current labor market is the strong shift in recruitment methods, with online recruitment becoming dominant. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Head of the Job Counseling and Placement - Labor Market Information Department of the Hai Phong Employment Service Center, shared: In January this year, the center organized 4 job fairs, including 3 regular sessions combined with online livestreaming and 1 mobile session in Ngo Quyen ward..., attracting a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises in the city to participate.

According to many experts, the labor market in 2026 will not experience rapid growth in numbers but will shift towards selective recruitment, prioritizing skilled personnel with experience and the ability to adapt quickly. Therefore, vocational training, retraining, and skill upgrading for workers will also be emphasized.

According to Nguyen Quang Minh, Deputy Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, businesses in the city's industrial parks and economic zones currently provide employment for nearly 345,000 workers, with an average income of 11.59 million VND per person per month. Besides cooperation and networking in labor training, many businesses organize free foreign language classes right in their factories, reward innovative ideas, and send employees to study abroad, helping the workforce adapt more quickly and effectively to the increasingly high demands of businesses in the context of digital transformation and economic restructuring.

In addition, the Department of Internal Affairs has assigned the City Employment Service Center to continue building and improving the labor market database. Simultaneously, job counseling and placement activities, as well as the diversification of job placement services (online, mobile, and job fairs), will continue to be maintained and the operational capacity of the City Job Exchange will be enhanced. Through these efforts, the city will strengthen support for labor market development, especially providing timely vocational training for those receiving unemployment benefits and expanding employment opportunities for young people.
