Inter Milan star threatens to beat PSG fan for being teased

Veteran centre-back Francesco Acerbi reacts angrily to a Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fan after being mocked over their heavy defeat in the Champions League final.

The 0-5 loss to PSG in Munich on June 1 was not only a huge shock for the "Nerazzurri" but also a painful personal moment for Acerbi, who was repeatedly outwitted by striker Bradley Barcola with technical moves.

Acerbi was furious.

The incident took place at a fan event in Seattle, where both Inter and PSG were participating in the FIFA Club World Cup. A fan wearing a PSG shirt reminded Acerbi of the embarrassing moment in the final, causing the 37-year-old to lose his cool.

Despite the intervention of an interpreter who warned him, “You have to be serious with him,” Acerbi responded in Italian: “I am serious. Don't make fun of me. I don't like it. I am mad and I will beat you up.”

After his outburst, Acerbi quickly regained his composure and continued interacting with more respectful fans. However, this is not the first time the centre-back has been embroiled in controversy in June. Previously, Acerbi refused to play for the Italian national team, accusing coach Luciano Spalletti of disrespecting him.

“I demand respect,” Acerbi said on social media. “If the coaching staff doesn’t respect me, I won’t join. I won’t stay in a place where I’m disrespected.”

After the incident, Acerbi was on the bench for Inter's hard-fought win over Urawa Reds. He is expected to return for the crucial match against River Plate on June 26.
