On May 28th, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) held the Sao Khue 2026 awards ceremony and announced the "Vietnam Digital Technology Solutions Map 2026". Entering its 23rd year, Sao Khue 2026 marks a significant shift as it is redesigned for the first time according to the "New Generation Sao Khue" model – not just an awards ceremony, but also a system for evaluating, verifying, and positioning the digital technology capabilities of Vietnamese businesses.

The event took place against the backdrop of the Digital Industry Law officially coming into effect at the beginning of 2026, becoming a "wake-up call" urging the digital business community to bravely abandon short-term commercial thinking and venture into new development spaces with national digital sovereignty .

Vietnam Digital Technology Solutions Map 2026: The market's new "guidebook".

Unlike previous seasons, the Sao Khue 2026 award is not just an honorary award, but also a platform for evaluating, verifying, and connecting Vietnam's digital technology ecosystem. Businesses can self-position their solutions, have them assessed and verified by experts, and be listed on the Vietnam Digital Technology Solutions Map. This system helps businesses increase brand reputation, improve market access, expand investment connections, and promote cooperation opportunities both domestically and internationally.

For regulatory bodies, the Vietnam Digital Technology Solutions Map is a crucial reference tool for policy planning and promoting national digital transformation. For organizations and users, it provides a transparent data source to help select reputable technology solutions that meet practical needs. Simultaneously, the program contributes to building a database of Vietnam's digital technology capabilities across industries and sectors, reflecting the development trends of the technology market in the new era.

140 solutions were evaluated, validated, and incorporated into 28 maps by the Council in this first campaign.

TOP 10 Sao Khue Awards 2026: Outstanding Solutions for the Digital Economy

Through the evaluation, presentation, and final selection rounds, the Sao Khue Award 2026 Final Selection Council, chaired by Dr. Nguyen Quan – former Minister of Science and Technology, along with 21 other members of the judging panel, selected 123 outstanding digital platforms, services, and solutions to award the Sao Khue Award 2026. Among these, the most notable are 42 digital economy & digital transaction solutions; 25 digital management solutions; and 18 breakthrough technology solutions.

42 solutions in the Digital Economy & Digital Transactions category and 25 management solutions were honored, reflecting the strong acceleration of digital transformation in the finance, banking, payment, and digital commerce sectors. Digital technology businesses have demonstrated their ability to fully master their application layers, digital transactions, and digital infrastructure. The Breakthrough Technologies category highlighted the prominence of AI, with most nominations focusing on artificial intelligence and intelligent automation.

Solutions like FPT Camera Brain, Saydi, Kyta Platform, and VNPT Cloud clearly reflect the trend of "practical AI" – AI is no longer limited to exploration and experimentation but has become independent products and solutions. AI is no longer just for chatting or support, but directly participates in automating processes, optimizing infrastructure, analyzing data, and operating businesses in real time.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich – Director of the Information Technology Industry Department, Ministry of Science and Technology, assessed: “The products honored today are not only the result of innovation, but also proof of the maturity of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises – enterprises that are gradually mastering technology, data, platforms and progressively affirming Vietnam's position on the global digital technology map.”

To appear in the Top 10 of the Sao Khue 2026 Awards, products and solutions must not only achieve excellent scores in the "Maturity" category (Technological maturity level), but also demonstrate effective practical implementation, financial capacity, market scalability, and a clear return on investment (ROI) for customers.

This year, the Top 10 Sao Khue Awards showcased a balanced presence of large technology corporations – mastering infrastructure, data, and digital platforms – alongside pioneering businesses in niche markets such as AI, FinTech, GovTech, security, and automation. The solutions honored in this year's Top 10 Sao Khue Awards demonstrate that Vietnamese technology companies are entering a new phase of development: from providing standalone software to creating digital operational infrastructure for the economy.

This also marks the first time that many Vietnamese technology products have simultaneously achieved three key elements: large scale, big data, and real-time operation. Many platforms have reached a scale serving tens of millions of users and processing billions of transactions annually. For example, some digital banking platforms have recorded over 15 million regular users with over 2.7 billion transactions per year; while public administration platforms have processed nearly 1.8 million online applications with a digitization rate exceeding 94%.

Opening the way for "new development spaces"

While proud of achievements in the commercial application and digital transaction levels, the Sao Khue Awards Organizing Committee has pointed out "strategic upstream gaps" in the macro-level analysis. At the awards ceremony, VINASA called on the technology community to allocate profits from the commercial level to invest resources in R&D, paving the way for four vital new development areas:

Industrial/Vertical AI: McKinsey forecasts AI will contribute $13 trillion to the global economy by 2030, but the actual flow of money will go to the industrial/veteran AI market serving manufacturing and logistics, worth $300 billion. Vietnamese businesses need to invest in and conduct R&D on advanced AI models to transform key economic sectors and elevate the position of domestic goods in the global supply chain, instead of just using AI for simple identification or sales management.

Low-altitude Economy: Morgan Stanley asserts that the low-altitude economy and eVTOL (industrial drones) will boom into a $1.5 trillion industry by 2040. The unmanned air traffic management (UTM) and low-altitude logistics navigation sector alone will reach $100 billion by 2030. VINASA is calling on digital businesses to master air traffic control operating systems, become self-reliant, and design their own "Make in Vietnam" industrial UAV ecosystems to dominate this new economic airspace.

Industrial Robotics and DeepTech Automation: The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) announced that the market size for AI-driven robotics will exceed $50 billion by 2030, reshaping the structure of all smart factories globally thanks to the thorough convergence of information technology and operational technology (IT/OT). Sao Khue aims to honor solutions and technologies that intervene in the core mechatronics and heavy-duty robot control software to achieve self-sufficiency in national production chains.

Quantum Technology: The global quantum computing market is growing at a CAGR of over 40%, projected to exceed $100 billion by 2030. When quantum computers reach maturity, they will have the potential to break any traditional financial encryption algorithm in seconds. VINASA recommends that cybersecurity businesses immediately begin researching and applying Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), building a new generation security shield to protect national digital sovereignty against the wave of quantum computing.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Truong Gia Binh – Chairman of the VINASA Founding Council – issued a call to action to Vietnamese digital technology businesses: "The Law on Digital Industry, officially effective from the beginning of 2026, can be seen as the 'ultimate declaration' protecting the creative space of Vietnamese businesses. In this context, this year's Sao Khue Awards not only recognize the achievements we have made, but also serve as a rallying cry urging us to strive for new horizons. Don't be content with revenue reports from superficial applications. Be brave enough to invest massive capital in R&D, paving the way for core upstream technologies such as low-level economy, robotics, and industrial AI. This is not just a business problem; it is a self-reliance mandate to protect national digital sovereignty."
