Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department, spoke at the press conference.

The Vietnam Logistics Forum is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade since 2013 to coordinate activities to promote the development of logistics services, create linkages between logistics and manufacturing and import-export industries, and also serve as a forum for dialogue and updating information on pressing issues of logistics services in Vietnam and around the world .

The Vietnam Logistics Forum 2023 is the 11th edition of the forum. Throughout its history, the forum has received significant attention and high praise from government leaders, ministries, departments, localities, and businesses.

Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department, stated that the Vietnam Logistics Forum is a close connection and frank dialogue at all three levels between state management agencies at the central and local levels and associations and businesses operating in the logistics sector in Vietnam.

This year's forum is being held against a backdrop of many new characteristics. The implementation of new free trade agreements (FTAs) such as CPTPP, EVFTA, UKVFTA, RCEP, and VIFTA requires businesses to strive to enhance their competitiveness.

The Covid-19 pandemic has been brought under control, but the post-pandemic socio-economic impacts, along with the conflict in Ukraine, have disrupted supply chains, reduced consumer demand, and severely affected businesses in general and logistics service businesses in particular.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with other ministries, sectors, and localities, is making concerted efforts to overcome difficulties and boost production and exports of goods. This aims to effectively utilize new FTAs, mitigate losses caused by the pandemic, and quickly restore economic growth.

Mr. Tran Thanh Hai also clarified that logistics is a service industry spanning many fields and geographical areas, requiring a high level of technology application.

Logistics is a service industry spanning many sectors and geographical areas, requiring a high level of technological application.

Digital transformation is an inevitable trend, helping logistics service businesses improve productivity, quality, and service efficiency, enhance competitiveness in the domestic market, and expand into international markets. "The digital transformation process in the logistics industry requires the attention and efforts of all sectors, levels, leaders, and employees within businesses to achieve the goals," Mr. Hai stated.

To convey this message, and to guide and encourage logistics businesses to accelerate digital transformation and apply digital technologies to enhance competitiveness, the Vietnam Logistics Forum 2023 adopted the main theme "Logistics and Digital Transformation for the Mekong Delta". This is also the theme of the Vietnam Logistics Report 2023, which was released at the Forum.

The Vietnam Logistics Forum, organized annually by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, aims to help businesses access and participate in the development of state mechanisms, policies, and laws related to the logistics industry. It also enables state management agencies to make accurate assessments and promptly issue policies that meet the practical demands of Vietnam's logistics sector.

Through associations and organizations, businesses provide feedback and critiques on policies related to infrastructure development, the business environment, customs procedures, and local fee policies.

The Vietnam Logistics Forum is scheduled to be held on December 1-2, 2023, with approximately 500 delegates including government leaders and leaders from ministries and agencies. In addition, there will be around 2,000 delegates from businesses, schools, and research institutes.

On the afternoon of December 1st, 2023: Delegates attending the Forum conducted a field survey at ports, logistics centers, and logistics service businesses in Can Tho City.

Morning of December 2, 2023: The plenary session of the Forum was attended and chaired by Comrade Tran Tuan Anh - Member of the Political Bureau, Head of the Central Economic Committee.
