On Saturday morning, putting aside personal matters, more than 200 members of the Da Nang Young Entrepreneurs Association gathered at the Da Nang City Youth Union to participate in the "Voluntary Blood Donation Day 2025".
Arriving early, Ms. Nguyen Thi Vinh Linh, Director of Hikari BPO Solutions Co., Ltd., came to the registration desk to complete the procedures before donating blood. Ms. Linh said that this was her 8th time donating blood voluntarily.
Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Director of Khoi Vinh Tam Company Limited, also registered to donate blood with the desire to contribute more blood to save people.
Ms. Hoang Thi Kim Tuyet, Deputy Chief of Office of the Da Nang Young Entrepreneurs Association, said that understanding the importance and humanitarian significance of voluntary blood donation, the association coordinates with the City Youth Union and the City Youth Union to organize a blood donation festival twice a year, mobilizing cadres, members and employees of businesses to share their blood together.
In the first phase of 2025, members of the Danang Young Entrepreneurs Association donated 210 units of blood, adding to the blood reserves at hospitals for emergency and treatment purposes.
Mr. Doan Van Hoa, Chief of Office of the City's Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee, informed that in the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the Standing Office of the City's Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee coordinated with member units to organize 63 voluntary blood donation campaigns, receiving 19,262 units of blood, reaching 52.7% of the yearly plan. Of which, the rate of people donating 350ml of blood reached 53% and 1,447 units of blood platelets.
According to statistics from the City's Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee, the estimated blood demand in 2025 of local hospitals is 36,000 units of blood, including 30,000 units of blood at Da Nang Hospital, 5,500 units of blood at Oncology Hospital, and 500 units of blood at Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.
However, due to the merger of localities and units, the plan to mobilize voluntary blood donation in the city is somewhat affected.
The Office of the City's Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee is coordinating with localities after the merger to increase propaganda and mobilize people from all walks of life to participate in blood donation to promptly supplement the blood reserves at hospitals.
At the same time, urgently reorganize the new Da Nang City Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee to continue leading and directing the voluntary blood donation campaign to ensure smooth and effective operations in the coming time.
