The Vietnamese auto market is witnessing a wave of deep price cuts in many segments, including cheap B-class sedans being sold off by manufacturers and dealers to attract customers.
Specifically, Toyota is supporting 50% of the registration fee for Vios buyers, equivalent to a cash incentive of about 23 - 32 million VND. Thanks to that, the rolling price of Vios only fluctuates from 435 - 513 million VND (depending on the province).
In June, Honda Vietnam applies incentives to all popular car models in the product catalog. Accordingly, the Honda City model is supported with 50% of the registration fee for all versions.
With the listed price of Honda City for 3 versions G, L and RS being 499, 539 and 569 million, the corresponding discount for customers buying this model is 36-40 million VND. Accordingly, the standard version of City is only 463 million VND, while the highest version City RS is priced at 519 million VND, not including other incentives from the dealer.
Similarly, Hyundai Accent (listed price 439 - 569 million VND) is being offered a discount of up to 50 million VND for cars manufactured in 2024, bringing the selling price of the car to around 400 - 520 million VND.
As for the Hyundai Accent VIN 2025 model, although there is no incentive policy from the company in June, some dealers are willing to reduce the price for customers by 15-20 million VND, plus some accessories to stimulate demand.
In addition to the three best-selling models in the above segment, some other names in the B-class sedan segment such as Mitsubishi Attrage, Nissan Almera or KIA Soluto are also not out of the race for B-class sedan discounts. In particular, Nissan Almera has a 100% reduction in registration fees equivalent to a reduction of 49 - 68 million VND, bringing the selling price of this imported car from Thailand down to 440 - 501 million VND.
Kia Soluto is THACO reducing the listed retail price by 17 and 21 million VND for the two versions Deluxe automatic transmission (listed price 446 million VND) and Deluxe manual transmission (listed price 418 million VND), respectively. Thanks to that, these two versions are priced at 429 and 397 million VND, respectively.
Mitsubishi Attrage's promotion program in June is quite similar to last month, with a 50% reduction in registration fee for the CVT Premium version and a 100% reduction in registration fee for the MT version. In addition, customers who buy a car will also receive a fuel voucher worth 8 million VND and a rear camera worth 2.5 million VND.
Similarly, Mazda2 is also being directly discounted by many dealers by 10-20 million depending on the version to increase competitiveness with rivals in the same segment.
Thus, all models in the B-class sedan segment are discounted through many different forms. This is considered a move to help this segment attract customers as well as increase its competitive position.
In addition, the trend of consumers shifting to small but valuable SUV/crossover models such as Mitsubishi Xfocre, along with attractive promotions, has caused traditional sedans to gradually lose their advantage. This forces car manufacturers to increase incentives for low-cost, manual transmission versions to attract this group of customers.
