After two very successful seasons, which were evaluated by experts as a good, meaningful and emotional playground, TNSV THACO Cup has become an indispensable spiritual food for student football fans, receiving special attention from universities, colleges, and academies nationwide. That is the reason why in this year's season, when the registration deadline (October 15), there were still some schools contacting to participate or some schools were late in completing the registration procedures. To ensure fairness, the Organizing Committee has finalized the list of teams registered to participate on time as notified in the invitation letter sent to the schools.

TNSV THACO Cup 2025 is expected to be fiercely competitive.

Accordingly, the TNSV THACO Cup 2025 will have a total of 68 competing teams, an increase of 4 teams compared to the previous season. Specifically, the northern region has 10 teams (up 1), the Central Coast region has 9 teams (up 1), the South Central - Central Highlands region has 6 teams (same as the previous tournament), the Southeast region has 7 teams (up 1), the Southwest region has 8 teams (up 2), and the Ho Chi Minh City region has 28 teams (down 1). The TNSV THACO Cup 2025 has 18 new teams compared to the 2024 tournament, including 15 teams participating for the first time and 3 teams participating for the first time returning. According to regulations, by November 15, teams that have successfully registered for the TNSV THACO Cup 2025 must send a list of 30 members including 7 officials, the coaching board and 23 players to the Organizing Committee. The deadline to complete the player and coach qualification documents is November 22. Any team that does not have a minimum of 18 players, including at least 2 goalkeepers, will not be allowed to participate in the tournament. Before December 5, the Organizing Committee will only allow a maximum of 2 players to be replaced on the registration list in case of injury.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

The Organizing Committee also said that the number of participating teams has increased, there are many new players but TNSV THACO Cup 2025 still ensures quality and is expected to be fiercely competitive. For example, in the qualifying round of the Southwest region, there are 8 teams but only 1 place to participate in the Finals, the Southeast region has 7 teams but only 1 excellent team will continue. In the Ho Chi Minh City area, the host team Ton Duc Thang University decided not to participate in the qualifying round to focus on the Finals. Therefore, the race between the remaining 27 teams, most of whom are equally talented and competing for 4 places in the Finals will be very fierce and attractive. It is not excluded that the strong team can still unfortunately stop.

According to experts, veteran teams that have made a name for themselves in the THACO Cup as well as in other tournaments such as the Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports (defending champion), the Thuy Loi University (runner-up), the Van Lang University team, the Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education still maintain their strength. Teams with good investment and determination to make an impression in the third season include the Dai Nam University team, the Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports, the Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports, the University of Economics (Hue University), the University of Science and Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University), the Van Hien University team, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, the Dong Nai University of Technology, the Hue University team, the People's Police University team, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, the Tra Vinh University team.

Among the 18 new recruits this season, the teams of Dong Thap University, FPT Polytechnic College, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports are highly appreciated for their good preparation and investment, capable of competing for a ticket to the final round, and can even make a difference in the championship race this season. Other names such as Quy Nhon University, Pacific University, East Asia University of Technology, Lilama 2 International University of Technology, Saigon University or Vietnam-Germany University are interesting unknowns that can cause surprises.

The qualifying round of the TNSV THACO Cup 2025 will take place earlier than the previous two seasons, opening on December 28, 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City and lasting until January 17, 2025. Specifically, the qualifying round will take place in 6 regions including the northern region in Hanoi (Water Resources University Stadium, from December 30), the Central Coast region in Da Nang (Dam Sen Stadium, from January 6, 2025), the South Central - Central Highlands region in Nha Trang (Nha Trang University Stadium, from January 10, 2025), the Southeast region in Ba Ria-Vung Tau (Bau Thanh Stadium, from January 4, 2025), the Southwest region in Can Tho (Can Tho Stadium, from January 8, 2025) and the Ho Chi Minh City region at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium.
