On the afternoon of June 8th, at a press conference providing information on economic issues and epidemic prevention and control in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of the Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, requested the school to urgently cooperate with the local police to investigate the incident and issue an official conclusion.
According to Mr. Minh, the Department of Education and Training has received a report from the Thu Duc City Department of Education and Training regarding the incident where two female students from grades 8 and 9 of Hung Binh Secondary School (Thu Duc City) were assaulted by three other students on June 6th, during the entrance exam for grade 10 in the 2023-2024 school year.

"Although the incident happened a few days ago, in order to stabilize the psychology of students taking the 10th grade entrance exam, the school decided to wait until the exam period is over before addressing the issue. This was a scuffle outside the school, 1 km away, and involved participants who were not students of the school ," Mr. Minh said.
The school must organize visits to comfort and stabilize the psychological state of the assaulted student and assess their health; they must urgently invite the parents and students involved to the school to gather information on June 8th.
"The Department requires schools to discipline students according to the school 's regulations and rules on rewards and disciplinary actions once there is an official conclusion from the relevant authorities; promptly grasp the situation, have solutions to handle it, and prevent the spread of the clip on social media," Mr. Minh emphasized.
Previously, according to a video circulating online depicting an incident that occurred in the Phuoc Thien resettlement area (about 1km from the school, Long Binh ward), two female students from grades 8 and 9 (wearing PE uniforms) of Hung Binh Secondary School were called out to an empty field by other female students from the same grade to question them.
The video shows a female student grabbing a ninth-grade student's hair and repeatedly hitting her on the head and face. The student then tore the other student's shirt and continued to hit her in the face and kick her in the stomach.
Next, another female student also rushed in, tearing the shirt and hitting the face of the student who had just been beaten, despite the latter's pleas.
Then, a female student proceeded to attack an eighth-grade student who was standing nearby.
