On November 17, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong led a delegation of Ho Chi Minh City to visit teachers on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025).
At the house of Associate Professor, Dr., Meritorious Teacher Duong Ai Phuong (former Principal of the University of Natural Sciences - Ho Chi Minh City National University), Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong asked about his health and discussed with Mr. Phuong about the city's education situation after the merger.
At the house of the late Professor Tran Van Giau, on behalf of the city's leaders, Mr. Cuong respectfully acknowledged the late professor's great contributions to his career of educating people, as well as his contributions to education, participating in many common tasks of the city as an expert.

On the same day, a delegation of leaders from Tran Van Giau High School (Binh Loi Trung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) also visited the family of the late Professor Tran Van Giau.
Ms. Pham Thi Thu Hong - Principal of the school - said that it has become a tradition of the school that every time Vietnam Teachers' Day, November 20, teachers and students visit the family of the late professor Tran Van Giau.
"Visiting the late professor's family, in addition to asking questions and expressing gratitude, the school also updated activities to maintain and promote the Tran Van Giau and Do Thi Dao Scholarship Funds, adding motivation for students to overcome difficulties, in line with the dedication of the respected teacher," Ms. Hong shared.
According to Ms. Hong, Tran Van Giau High School currently maintains the Tran Van Giau and Do Thi Dao Scholarship Fund with a total value of 500 million VND, deposited in the school's savings account. With nearly 1,700 students, the school annually uses the interest from this account to award scholarships to 30 students, each student about 1 million VND, to help students overcome difficulties.
