The pattern of heavy rain is similar to the late October rains.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from the night of November 17 and the morning of November 18, the area from Hue City to Da Nang City, the eastern part of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain.

Rainfall from 7pm on November 17 to 8am on November 18 was over 200mm in some places, such as Tra Don station (Da Nang city) 359.4mm, Tra Thanh station (Quang Ngai) 279.8mm, Van Canh station ( Gia Lai ) 249.4mm...

From November 18 to the end of the night of November 18, Hue City to Da Nang City, the east of Quang Ngai to Dak Lak , Khanh Hoa will continue to have heavy to very heavy rain. Rainfall is 120-250mm, in some places over 450mm. Southern Quang Tri will have heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 70-150mm, in some places over 250mm. Ha Tinh and northern Quang Tri will have rain of 40-100mm, in some places 150mm.

The reason for the continuous heavy rain is due to the continuous disturbance of the east wind zone bringing moisture from the sea combined with the cold air also continuously strengthening. In addition, the wind-catching effect of the Truong Son mountain range. This rain has the same formation principle as the historic flood that happened in the Central region just now.

Heavy rain will continue for many days to come.

The North is cold, there may be frost.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - Head of Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, it can be confirmed that this is the most intense cold spell since the beginning of winter.

"According to our observations, the air pressure at the cold center reaches 1075mb. The temperature at the center drops below minus 30 degrees Celsius. The direction of this cold wave is moving north-south, straight from the north down.

In addition to the strong cold air, from the night of November 18 to the end of November 19, the North will also experience rain. Rain combined with strong cold air will cause the temperature in the North, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh to drop sharply," said Mr. Huong.

According to the assessment of the meteorological agency, November 18 and 19 will be the two coldest days with the lowest temperature in the Northern Delta and North Central region generally ranging from 12-14 degrees Celsius. Mountainous areas from 8-11 degrees Celsius. High mountainous areas in some places below 7 degrees Celsius.

From November 20, the rain in the North will decrease and it will turn cold at night and morning, with sunny days.

From November 20 to 22 or 23, frost may appear in the North, especially in mountainous and midland areas in the North.
