Ukraine's gas reserves have a capacity of 31 billion cubic meters - the largest in Europe and much higher than domestic demand.
According to Prime Minister Shmigal, the country can provide storage space of up to 15 billion m3 to European traders.
Earlier, during a visit to Brussels, CEO of Ukrainian state energy company Naftogaz Aleksey Chernyshov revealed that Kiev could lease gas reserves to EU countries.
In early October, Aleksey Chernyshov announced that foreign traders had increased gas storage in Ukraine from 1.8 billion cubic meters in mid-September to 2.2 billion cubic meters .
Despite the risks associated with a special military operation in Russia, European gas traders and energy corporations began storing gas at storage facilities in Ukraine this year.
Czech energy group EP Commodities President Miroslav Hasko confirmed that the company transports gas to Ukraine and uses the country's gas storage facilities.
“We consider gas storage in Ukraine as one of the interesting business opportunities,” Miroslav Hasko emphasized.
