DNO - On September 30th, the Department of Construction organized a program to disseminate, train, and guide the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital transformation in the construction industry for representatives of state management agencies, associations, organizations, training institutions, and businesses related to the construction sector in the city.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Tran Van Hoang stated that digital transformation is a trend in the construction industry, and the application of BIM is essential in the management of construction investment projects to improve management efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance accuracy in the design, construction, and operation of construction works.
The Department of Construction is organizing a program to disseminate, train, and guide the implementation of BIM and digital transformation in the construction industry. This aims to help state management agencies, associations, organizations, and businesses in the industry access, exchange experiences, enhance professional knowledge, resolve BIM-related issues, and prepare the necessary legal and professional knowledge to implement the BIM adoption roadmap as stipulated in Decision No. 258/QD-TTg dated March 17, 2023, of the Prime Minister .
Accordingly, from 2023, the application of BIM will be mandatory for Grade 1 and special-grade construction projects of new construction investment projects using public investment capital, non-public investment state capital, and public-private partnership (PPP) investment methods that begin project preparation work. From 2025, the application of BIM will be mandatory for the commencement of project preparation work for construction investment projects of Grade 2 and above...
Mr. Tran Van Hoang also emphasized that the Department of Construction encourages businesses and units to apply BIM in construction activities earlier than the aforementioned schedule.
At the same time, it is suggested that the research team of the University of Technology - Da Nang University, which is conducting a research project to promote the application of BIM information modeling and digital transformation in the construction industry of Da Nang city in the period 2023-2024, should develop and advise the city to issue specific policies to promote the application of BIM in the industry, contributing to improving the efficiency of construction investment project management.
During the program, lecturers from the Project Management Department, Danang University of Technology - Danang University, and experienced engineers in BIM application shared topics such as: Industry 4.0 mindset and digital transformation strategy in the construction industry; BIM and some applications; overview of BIM implementation standards and models for investors; BIM application in design and application on actual construction projects...
