On the afternoon of October 9, the Department of Health held an urgent meeting to direct the plan for implementing artificial kidneys; propose a plan to handle flooded medical stations and medical points in the area. Attending were Deputy Directors of the Department of Health; Representatives of leaders of the Department of Health; representatives of leaders and relevant officials of the units: Provincial General Hospital, Center for Disease Control, Quang Uyen Hospital, Cao Bang Medical Center, Hoa An Medical Center. Comrade Nong Tuan Phong, Director of the Department of Health chaired the meeting.

Director of the Department of Health Nong Tuan Phong spoke to direct the plan to deploy artificial kidneys at units affected by the storm.

Due to the impact of the circulation of storm No. 11 (Matmo), heavy rain and widespread flooding occurred in Cao Bang province, including the pumping station of Cao Bang Water Supply Company Limited... resulting in a local water shortage in the wards of Thuc Phan, Nung Tri Cao, and Tan Giang. The Provincial General Hospital located in Tan Giang ward also suffered from a general water shortage.

Currently, the Provincial General Hospital is managing and treating a total of 82 patients on hemodialysis. Based on the actual situation, the lack of clean water for hemodialysis and according to the planned plan of the Provincial General Hospital, 8 patients will be transferred to Quang Uyen Hospital and 6 patients to Hoa An Medical Center to continue treatment and patient care.

Here, the units reported on the situation of human resources, equipment, as well as the actual use of water available, thereby proposing plans and solutions for dialysis in the coming time, especially in the context of water resources being affected by storm No. 11...

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nong Tuan Phong, Director of the Department of Health, emphasized that in the recent past, the units have been united and made efforts in the work of taking care of people's health in general and the work of artificial kidney dialysis in particular. To continue to ensure this work, the Director of the Department of Health requested that there should be close cooperation and coordination between the units, in which the Provincial General Hospital supports human resources for the two units; along with that, the two units must be determined to carry out, only discuss progress, not retreat, the biggest goal is to take care of and ensure the health of the people, especially the areas affected by the storm.

Regarding the work of flood prevention and control, overcoming the consequences of storm No. 11, Director of the Department of Health Nong Tuan Phong said that the units have been proactive in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 11. However, the immediate work is to clean up and rearrange the facilities affected by the storm; continue to coordinate in carrying out disinfection spraying and environmental treatment in flooded areas, especially treating the domestic water source for people.
