The Ho Chi Minh City regional qualifying round of the 2024 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament officially opened on the morning of September 27 at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium, with the participation of nearly 4,000 spectators who were workers and civil servants supporting the teams participating in the tournament, along with student forces from Ton Duc Thang University and the People's Police University.

Not only creating a meaningful playground, the Organizing Committee also wants to use the tournament to create a spirit of solidarity in sports ; help people connect more closely in work and production. At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented 2.1 billion VND in donations from readers and sponsors to the representative of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, to be transferred to the families of union members and trade unions in the Northern provinces that suffered damage due to storm No. 3.

The Ho Chi Minh City regional qualifying round takes place from September 27 to 29 at Ton Duc Thang University and the People's Police University. 16 teams are divided into 4 groups, with the top 2 teams from each group advancing to the quarter-finals. The four semi-finalists will qualify for the national finals in November in Hanoi .
On the opening day of the qualifying round in Ho Chi Minh City, in group C , the Ben Tre Trade Union team won 2-1 against Dong Nai 2 Trade Union and the Rong Viet Securities Company team defeated their opponent from Coteccons Company with the same score of 2-1.

In group B , Dong Nai 4 Trade Union won 7-0 against An Giang Trade Union; Ho Chi Minh City 2 Trade Union won 2-0 against Ca Mau Trade Union. In group A , Dong Nai 1 Trade Union won 8-2 against Biti's and Textile Trade Union defeated Ho Chi Minh City 1 Trade Union with a score of 3-0.
In Group D , Long An Port team lost 0-5 to Dong Thap Trade Union while Dong Nai 3 Trade Union defeated Soc Trang Trade Union team with a score of 2-0.
Group A: Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union 1, Textile and Garment Trade Union, Dong Nai Trade Union 1, Biti's.
Group B: Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union 2, Ca Mau Trade Union, An Giang Trade Union, Dong Nai Trade Union 4.
Group C: Dong Nai 2 Trade Union, Ben Tre Trade Union, Rong Viet Securities, Coteccons.
