Son Heung-min burst into tears as he said goodbye to Tottenham after 10 years to join Los Angeles FC in a deal worth more than £20 million, breaking the MLS transfer record.

At the age of 33, Son decided to leave Spurs after winning the Europa League with the team in May. That was also his first and only title in the white shirt of London.

Speaking in a farewell video posted on Tottenham's homepage, the Korean captain was emotional: "This is probably the most difficult decision of my life. Please don't be disappointed. If anyone is sad, it's me because I won't be able to see you guys anymore. I will always be a part of Spurs' history and the club will forever be in my heart, like a family."

Son joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 for a fee of £22 million, becoming a symbol of the club with 173 goals, including 127 in the Premier League, and 101 assists in 454 matches.

Although he only won the 2024 Europa League title, Son left a strong mark with many individual awards, most notably the 2021/22 Premier League Golden Boot and the 2020 Puskas Award for his world-class solo goal against Burnley.
