According to the Daily Mail , Son Heung Min is said to have informed Tottenham and new head coach Thomas Frank of his intention to leave this summer.
After a decade in North London, the 33-year-old South Korean star wants to start a new chapter in his career in the United States. The decision comes after Son spent a decade with Spurs, scoring 173 goals in 454 appearances.
According to sources, MLS club LAFC has emerged as the most potential destination for the Korean striker.
Interest from LAFC is strong and talks are said to be progressing well. A move to Los Angeles would take Son to a city with the largest Korean community in the US, an attractive factor both commercially and personally.
Despite reportedly more lucrative offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Son is said to have prioritised experiencing life in the US.
Tottenham's new manager Thomas Frank is aware of Son's wishes and reports suggest the club will not stand in his way if the 33-year-old captain decides to seek a new challenge, in recognition of his excellent work.
Son's desire to leave comes after a historic season, when he captained the team to Europa League glory, ending Tottenham's 17-year trophy drought.
Tottenham's pre-season friendly against Newcastle in Seoul (South Korea) on August 3 could be Son's last appearance in a London shirt.
