Following the Prime Minister's directive, Son La province has two projects approved by the Ministry of Construction for commencement to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. These include: the project to renovate and construct new buildings within the Provincial Party Committee's premises and the Chieng Dong Water Treatment Plant and clean water transmission pipelines project.

Modernizing the workspace to meet the requirements of a streamlined organizational structure.
The project to renovate and construct new buildings within the Son La Provincial Party Committee's premises includes the following items: Construction of a new 7-story office building and auxiliary facilities; renovation of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's office and the Provincial Party Committee's Office into a canteen, guesthouse, and official residence; upgrading the archives building; renovating the entire attic of the Provincial Conference Center; upgrading the external technical infrastructure system...
In addition, investments include office equipment to meet the working needs of staff, elevator systems, computers, information technology, communication systems, air conditioning, fire protection and security systems; interior decoration of offices, meeting rooms, reception rooms, and lobbies; equipment for the kitchen, dining room, guest house, and storage facilities...

The project aims to meet the requirements for streamlining the organizational structure according to the two-tiered local government model; serving the tasks of administrative reform, digital transformation, and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of Party agencies in the new era.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Lo Minh Hung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, emphasized: The commencement of the project is of great significance in concretizing urban development plans, gradually forming a unified administrative and political complex, and connecting synchronously with key projects of the province.
Mr. Lo Minh Hung requested that the investor, relevant departments and contractors focus intensely on closely managing the progress and quality, ensuring safety during construction, and striving to complete the project by National Day on September 2, 2027.

Solving the clean water problem in mountainous areas.
Regarding the Chiềng Dong Clean Water Plant Project and the clean water transmission pipelines connecting Sơn La city and Mai Sơn district (now Chiềng Mai, Chiềng Mung, Mai Sơn communes and Chiềng Sinh ward, Sơn La province), the Sơn La Water Supply Joint Stock Company is the investor. The project has a total investment of over 260 billion VND, a capacity of 14,000 m3/day, and is being built in Xum village, Chiềng Mung commune, on an area of approximately 1.2 hectares.
The project includes the following components: a water treatment area, reservoirs, electrical system, chemicals, sludge treatment, and especially a raw water pipeline system, transmission pipelines, and a clean water distribution network, connecting the wards of Tô Hiệu, Chiềng Cơi, Chiềng Sinh and the communes of Chiềng Mung, Chiềng Mai, and Mai Sơn.

The project, implemented in the period 2025-2026 and expected to be operational in 2028, will fundamentally address the water shortage and provide clean, standardized water to tens of thousands of households in Chiềng Mai, Chiềng Mung, Mai Sơn communes and Chiềng Sinh ward; serving residential areas, service facilities, production facilities, and industrial zones. This will improve the living environment, enhance public health, and promote sustainable socio-economic development for the entire project area.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, emphasized: The implementation of the project not only affirms the determination of the Provincial Party Committee and government in attracting investment in essential infrastructure but also aims towards the goal of 100% of the people having access to clean water in the future; creating new momentum and a vibrant emulation spirit to welcome the 14th National Congress of the Party.

To ensure the project is completed and becomes effective as soon as possible, Mr. Chá A Của suggested that the investor focus all resources and accelerate the progress while absolutely guaranteeing technical quality, labor safety, and environmental hygiene. Local Party committees and authorities should strengthen propaganda and mobilization efforts to gain public consensus in land clearance and ensure security and order in the construction area; relevant departments and agencies should coordinate closely and promptly resolve any difficulties or obstacles that arise.
With the concerted efforts of the entire political system and the support of the people, the Chieng Dong Clean Water Plant project is expected to become a model project and a key highlight of Son La province's technical infrastructure.
