In 2024, units will focus on leading and directing training according to the motto "basic - practical - solid"; effectively implementing the 3 viewpoints, 8 principles, and 6 combinations in training; emphasizing comprehensive and in-depth training, prioritizing practical application, and proficiently using existing weapons and equipment, especially new and modern weapons and equipment; striving to fully complete all training programs, content, and time for all personnel, especially newly enlisted soldiers.

The Military Command and the Border Guard Command of Son La province launched their 2024 training campaign.

Speaking at the training commencement ceremony, Major General Tran Anh Du, Deputy Commander of Military Region 2, urged the armed forces of Son La province to continuously improve the quality of training and combat readiness. He emphasized focusing on training personnel to achieve high standards from the very first day and week, following the basic curriculum; closely integrating training with the development of commanding officers and staff. Simultaneously, he stressed the need to implement comprehensive measures to effectively carry out defense diplomacy; strengthening exchanges, solidarity, and friendship with units and localities in the northern provinces of Laos, contributing to a solid foundation for the province's defense zone.

At the training commencement ceremony, the units launched a high-intensity emulation campaign "Following in the footsteps of the Dien Bien Phu soldiers - Striving to achieve 3 bests" towards the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; the period is from March 1st to May 7th, 2024.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Ngoc Triu, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Son La Provincial Military Command, said: In accordance with the combat training orders of the Military Region Commander, the Party Committee and the Son La Provincial Military Command have directed all units in the force to simultaneously launch training exercises. In the 2024 training program, in addition to the planned content and programs, a difference this year is that the Provincial Military Command has directed the inclusion of Program B training for specific groups due to Son La's mountainous location.
